School Tours


Clovermead School Tours

Spend the entire day with us and learn about the wonderful world of bees with a 1 hour tour! Tour includes a power point presentation on how bees make honey and the importance of pollination, a visit to the bee keeper and the hive and a wagon ride around the farm.  Admission for the adventure farm is included. Cost per student is $10 + tax ($11.30). If you have 15 students or less, the total cost of the tour is $150 +tax. Teachers, Educational Assistants and bus drivers are free. One parent for every four children are free. Extra parents and siblings are charged the regular admission fee to the farm. Free admission coupons are not accepted for school tour packages.

Homeschool Groups – Homeschool Honeybee Days

Children and adults pay $10.99 +tax.  For a group of less than 15, the cost is $12.99 +tax.  Children 23 months and younger are at no charge.  Enjoy an unguided day on the farm with lots of fun activities.  Walk in and see the beekeeper from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm.  Free admission coupons are not accepted for honeybee days.

Please Note

1. Clovermead can accept a group of up to 150 students in one tour slot for Bee Tours. We can accept 100 students in 1 tour slot for Pumpkin Tours. Groups will be broken into smaller groups.
2. Confirmation is required for all bookings. Please check all email folders, including Junk Folder for email confirmation.
3. Free admission coupons are NOT accepted for tours.

Tours are for ages 4 and up. We tailor the tour for each age group and we can emphasize one topic area of the honeybees if requested.

May, June and September Bee Tours
Experience the wonderful world of honey bees!
With Clovermead’s powerpoint & video presentation, you will learn about the life of the Queen bee and her 30,000 kids. We will show you how the honey bee family work together and make their home. What food and products do bees make? It’s not just honey! Learn about how important honey bee pollination is to the fruits and vegetables that we eat.

Cost: $10 plus tax per student
Tour: 1 hour

Meet the beekeeper and pump his bee smoker.
The beekeeper will let you know how he takes care of the bee hive.

See live the wonderful world of honey bees safely behind a screened deck. Perhaps a baby bee will hatch for you. Personally hold a drone, meet the important Queen Bee and watch bees come home with pollen.

Enjoy a wagon ride around the farm looking at the different crops surrounding Clovermead.

Treat bag included (honey stick and educational chatter box for each student).

Free to do on your own:
You are welcome to explore our adventure farm for the entire day (already included in your tour cost). Enjoy our fun zipline, pedal go carts and activities. Why not meet our friendly farm animals? Browse Clovermead’s honey gift shop and try all our honey samples.

From Your Side:
You can arrive as early as 9am and depart as late as 5:30pm. Tour starts at booked time, please do not Bee late.

From Our Side:
A picnic area will be reserved for your entire visit. We will reschedule if raining. We will ensure you have a good sweet time at Clovermead!

What's Included in your Pumpkin Tour?

 

October Pumpkin Tour:

How do pumpkins grow from seed to fruit?
This is what your students will learn on a Clovermead Pumpkin Tour.  Discussion will include the stages of the pumpkin growth, importance of Nature during this growth and uses of a pumpkin.  The students will experience a trip to the pumpkin field. Each student can take home their own boo boo (small) pumpkin before they get onto the bus. Included in the tour is a pumpkin cannon show and wagon ride.

Cost: $10 plus tax per student

Tour: 1 hour

Free to do on your own:

You are welcome to stay on the adventure farm and stroll down the trails after the tour (already included in your tour cost). Enjoy our fun zipline, pedal go carts and activities. Why not meet our friendly farm animals? Browse Clovermead’s Honey Gift shop and try all our honey samples.

From Your Side:
