What a Day Here Actually Teaches

Clovermead is a real honey operation, not a farm-themed attraction. There's a glass bee hive where a live colony is doing its job, on display from roughly June to the end of September, and a shop stocked with what those hives produced.

About 40 Goats to Feed

Plus sheep, bunnies, hens and a Highland calf, all fed through the fence. Feed cups are sold at admissions, the Honey Shop, Red Barn Pizza and the Splashing Snack Shack. The bunnies and chickens come out for petting times posted on the daily schedule.

Gem Mining

Sifting, washing, sorting and working out what you've actually got. Hands busy, questions flowing, and a bag of finds to take home and look up properly afterward. Gem mining is an extra-cost attraction on top of admission.

The Same Farm, Four Times a Year

Come in May and it looks nothing like October. Fall brings the corn maze and our two-acre pumpkin patch; early summer is the splash pad and full fields. A season pass turns one field trip into a season of watching the same place change.

Room to Run It Off

Slides, pedal karts, the jumping pillow, the play areas and the splash pad are all included, which matters more than it sounds. A morning of animals and questions goes down better when there's somewhere to burn off the rest of it afterward.

A Farm Day That Counts as a School Day

One of the real advantages of homeschooling is that a Tuesday is as good as a Saturday, and a working farm 20 minutes from London is open on both. Clovermead is family-run, and the honey side of it is the real thing: 800 hives, a live colony behind glass, and a shop stocked with what came out of them.

Come as a single family on any operating day, or bring the co-op and book ahead through our school tours page, where group bookings start at 20 students. Clovermead also runs dedicated homeschool days through the year. Either way, admission covers the Animal Barn, the tractor wagon ride, the play areas and most of the farm, so a lesson about pollination turns into a morning outside without anyone noticing it was educational. Feed cups, gem mining and pumpkins are extra.
