Six Varieties on Tap, All From Our Own Hives
Every one is pure and unpasteurized. Sample them all at the Honey Tasting Bar, then bring a container back any time and we'll fill it from the tap.
- Summer Blossom floral, with subtle fruity undertones. The famous one.
- Wild Blueberry delicate and floral with berry undertones.
- Sweet Clover pale and mild, with subtle vanilla notes.
- Buckwheat dark, full-bodied and earthy.
- Thistle gathered from thistle blossoms.
- Golden Rod a late-season honey, one of the last flows of the year.
Clovermead is a working apiary first. The 24 million bees that make the Summer Blossom on our shelves are the same ones you can watch through the glass hive at the farm, and none of the pure honey is pasteurized, which is why it granulates over time. That's the sign of real honey, not a fault.

What kinds of honey does Clovermead sell?

Six varieties of pure unpasteurized honey are on tap: Summer Blossom, Wild Blueberry, Sweet Clover, Buckwheat, Thistle and Golden Rod. Alongside those we carry twelve varieties of creamed honey spreads, hot honey, honey butter, royal jelly honey, propolis honey, power honey, bee pollen and pure beeswax.
What is royal jelly honey, and propolis honey?

Royal jelly is what nurse bees feed a larva to raise a queen. Propolis is the resin bees gather to seal and protect the hive. We blend both into honey so you can take them by the spoonful rather than on their own. You'll find them in the Hive Health Essentials range along with power honey and bee pollen.
Can I sample the honey, or refill my own container?

Both. Sample all six varieties at the Honey Tasting Bar before you choose, and because they're all on tap you can bring a container back any time for a refill. Most people come in planning to buy Summer Blossom and leave with something else.
Is Clovermead honey raw and unpasteurized?

The six pure honeys are unpasteurized. Our raw honey has never been warmed at all, so it granulates naturally over time. That's normal, and a sign the honey has not been processed.
Do I need a farm ticket to visit the Honey Shop?

No. The Honey Shop is free to visit and open to everyone, year round, Monday to Saturday 9 to 5, closed Sundays. Admission tickets are only needed for the Adventure Farm, which runs May 16 to October 31. The shop is here in January when the rides aren't.
